Here are Garner Magnet High School we take pride in our school. As you walk through the hallways you will hear the normal conversations of teenagers which most of the time are really not normal to everyone else. When the bell sounds and it's time for the educating to begin the fun starts to happen. We have setup a Fire Academy here to not only help educate students on fire safety but also to educate them well enough so they can obtain certifications through the State Fire Marshall's Office. In our program we have Battalion Chief for each class which is responsible for Cadet Accountability or roll call. Each class is divided into squads which will have a Captain for each squad. When the Battalion Chief as for a PAR check the Captain of the squad identified would answer. This brings a sense of leadership to the classroom. After PAR check the Battalion Chief will then get all the cadets to rise by saying "Attention on Deck". He or she will then lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. We are adding a new Cadet Creed next year so the Battalion Chief will conduct that as well. Last but not least any announcements that pertain to the class will be announced by the Battalion Chief as well. Next, we move into the lesson. Most of the time the Chief will conduct the training but sometimes we have visitors. We have had Garner Fire Department Station 3 come out and do an overview of how they do things as well as show us their Fire Truck. The cadets seem to really love to hear someone else speak and teach a little while beside the Chief. We are looking to have more people from around the community to come in an help us with our training as we proceed to grow.
